The most pristine of all of the islands, Koh Thmei is part of the Ream National Park and doesn't even have an entire village to call its own. Last December the Cambodian government granted a German couple the right to build an eco-friendly lodge there, complete with solar panels and natural water filtration system.
Koh Thmei
Found off the coast of Ream National Park, Koh Thmei is an almost uninhabited island flanked by mangrove forests. There is only one resort to stay on the island, but it's peaceful, ecologically minded set up is perfect if you are looking to unwind. Solar power means the bungalows have elecricity almost all day - a rarity on the islands. Explore the beaches, littered with exotic shells, a coral reef perfect for snorkelling and more than a hundred species of rare birds to observe. |
