BENG MEALEA TEMPLE (Khmer: ប្រាសាទបឹងមាលា)


Ancient city surrounded by a literate wall overlooking the moat 50m wide. And                           
contemporary dimensions comparable to those of Angkor Wat which resume the plan, this temple is one of the shrines had not delivered for entries: it royal monuments or private foundation? Despite some Hindu theme illustration, found on most of the lintels, pediments and pilasters, it seems that this temple was Buddhist inspiration.  The site of Bueng Mealea covers an area of 110 hectares and includes many shrines including the temple of Bueng Mealea itself occupies only the center. Despite the uncertainty surrounding its construction, this set is attached to the style of Angkor Wat.
